Domain Prices Rising
Domain prices are going up next month and we would like your input on how to handle it. Usually the .com, .net, and .org all go up at the same time, but this time it’s working a little differently and some are going up, while others are not.
There are two ways we could go about this and it’s important to us to keep costs low for clients so please comment on your preference.
- Raise the price of only affected TLD’s by $.75 to cover the increased cost.
- Raise the price of all TLD’s by $.45, allowing the ones that are not increasing in price to help offset the ones that are.
We try not to raise prices at all, under any circumstances. In fact, our hosting packages recently changed to offer 5x the resources of the previous packages with only a minimal price increase. Unfortunately, this price increase comes from Verisign and all registrars must increase to cover costs.
Thank you for your input, it is much appreciated!
P.S. Renew your domains now to avoid paying higher prices. The more years you renew for now, the more you save! Keep in mind, these price increases have been coming every year and will continue through future years. TLD prices have increased more than $3 over the past 4 years.
